After months of the worst power outage, Bo and Kenema will breathe a sigh of relief today when President Julius Maada Bio will press the button for them to begin enjoying 24 hours electricity supply chain.

Even at a time when Freetown was the darkest city several years ago, Bo and Kenema were an envy of electricity but all of these went bust in the last three years when the Bo/Kenema Danish electricity power plant began to experience problems that plunged both cities into perpetual blackout.

The Dodo dam in Kenema which was an alternative during the rains too had huge unexplained problems.

Today’s event will be a landmark one as the cities are the eternal strongholds of the ruling party and with election just next door this is a huge political cushion to ride on.
