The President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Julius Maada Bio has on Friday, 11th April, 2025, arrived in Antalya, Türkiye, to participate in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF 2025).

Reportedly, this year’s forum is hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye under the auspices of H.E. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and will run from 11th April to 13th April, 2025.

The theme for the fourth edition of the forum, “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World,” according to report, underscores the urgent need for effective diplomacy amid increasing global divisions. The event is aimed to address the challenges posed by growing geopolitical rifts, rising violence against civilians, deepening global inequalities, and the impact of technological disruptions and climate change.

Report has it that the Antalya Diplomacy Forum seeks to evaluate the systemic issues within the multilateral order and encourage dialogue on how diplomacy can adapt to today’s complex landscape, confirming that it will bring together global leaders, policymakers, academics, business experts, and representatives from civil society and the media to discuss strategies for restoring diplomacy as a stabilizing force in an unpredictable world.

President Bio alongside other participants will reportedly focus on innovative tools for conflict resolution, mediation strategies, and regional cooperation mechanisms. By addressing the root causes of current issues, the forum aims to inspire policymakers to rethink the role of diplomacy in these turbulent times.

Additionally, it was admitted that discussions will reflect on the failures of global governance and the need for greater trust in international organizations, and that the forum will also explore the role of non-governmental stakeholders in complementing traditional diplomatic efforts, highlighting the importance of making diplomacy more inclusive and resilient.
