Alhaji Amadu Bah, Sierra Leone’s Peace Ambassador, has issued a strong condemnation of the growing trend of young people displaying firearms on social media.

In a statement released from his office, Ambassador Bah expressed deep concern over this behavior, calling it “reckless” and a threat to the nation’s hard-won peace and stability.

Ambassador Bah stressed that such displays of weapons and violent imagery undermine the efforts of President Bio’s administration to promote peace and security. He emphasized that this behavior sends a negative message to younger generations and projects a distorted image of Sierra Leone both domestically and internationally.

The Peace Ambassador called for a collective effort to address this issue. He urged parents, community leaders, and educators to engage with young people, providing guidance and encouraging them to reject violence. He emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of peace through dialogue and constructive expression.

Ambassador Bah concluded his statement with a call for unity and a shared commitment to building a future where Sierra Leone’s youth understand the value of peace and contribute to a better tomorrow.
