Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mr. Brima Kanneh, welcomed a delegation from the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) during a courtesy visit at the Regional Police Headquarters.
The visit, led by NCPD Chairman and Chief Commissioner, Mr. Brima Abdulai Sherif, aimed to address issues affecting persons with disabilities, particularly those related to legal conflicts.
AIG Kanneh expressed his appreciation for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of police support for all community members. “My office is for the people I am serving. Do not hesitate to share with me issues that require Police intervention,” he stated.
He further highlighted the significance of recognizing that anyone can become a candidate for disability, urging the community to remain inclusive and empathetic.

The NCPD delegation appealed to AIG Kanneh to act as an Ambassador for their cause, advocating for the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities in the Southern Region.
They also announced plans to introduce a new Regional Director, who will strengthen coordination and advocacy efforts on behalf of individuals with disabilities.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, fostering a mutual understanding that sets the foundation for a stronger partnership between the Sierra Leone Police South and the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
