During a routine inspection, the Station Manager for the Goderich substation, Mr. Bamba, and his team discovered an individual cutting cables at the Juba Hill transformer, near Yumkella’s Compound.
The suspect appeared to be in the process of stealing electrical cables, a common issue in the area that has been affecting power supply reliability.
Upon noticing the EDSA team, the suspect quickly fled into a nearby fenced compound, evading capture. The team immediately notified local authorities, who have since launched an investigation to apprehend the individual and prevent further incidents of cable theft.
The EDSA team immediately reported the incident to local authorities, who are now investigating the matter. Cable theft has been a persistent issue in the region, often causing disruptions to power supply and raising concerns about the security of critical infrastructure.
EDSA continues to monitor the situation closely, working with law enforcement to address this ongoing threat to the power network.
