The Carter Center election observers in Sierra Leone have visited the office of the political parties regulation commission (PPRC) office in Kono district.
The visit according to them was to discuss and map out the preparedness of the commission ahead of the June 24th elections in the country.
PPRC has been rolling out mechanisms and set plans to ensure a peaceful election and a process that will be monitored from start to finish in ensuring that every political party is working according to the prescribed standard.
In another development, the commission together with the Sierra Leone police has in Portloko summoned an emergency meeting with the executive of the All People’s Congress (APC) Political Party and the People’s Democratic Party.
The engagement was to discuss violation of the campaign calendar. The matter which was resolved and both parties were happy with the settlement done by the commission as was reported.
