At the heart of the twelfth session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)  Standing Committee for Information and Cultural Affairs (COMIAC) conference in Dakar, Sierra Leone’s Information and Civic Education Minister, Chernoh Bah, engaged the Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies, Mohammed Alyami.

They had fruitful discussions hovering on deepening collaboration in  media and the vision of President Bio to revamp the Sierra Leone News Agency (SLENA).

Managing Director of the Sierra Leone News Agency, Yeama Thompson, accompanied the Minister.

The twelfth session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Standing Committee for Information and Cultural Affairs (COMIAC), is will taking place at the King Fahad Palace hotel in Dakar, Senegal from October 16 to 18.

The conference is geared at reviewing reports on the activities of the OIC General Secretariat and its affiliated institutions in media, culture, dialogue among civilizations, tourism, and youth to enhance cooperation and solidarity among the OIC member states in these areas.

COMIAC is one of the three ministerial standing committees of the OIC each chaired by a head of state which meet in ordinary sessions every three years, the two others being the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC)  and the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH).
