Chief Minister of Sierra Leone David Sengeh is preparing for a return to Kono, following a productive visit two weeks ago that provided valuable insights and set the stage for future engagements.

Dr. Sengeh has been reflecting on his trip, which included meetings with local Chiefs, party officials, and community members.

In his review of the visit, Dr. Sengeh highlighted several key outcomes. First, he noted that President Julius Maada Bio’s engagement with Kono’s affairs was significant, leading to directives for follow-up actions. Since the visit, advancements have been made on projects such as the Kono University updates and the Kono-Guinea road improvement.

Dr. Sengeh also emphasized the strong desire among Kono residents for closer government interaction. The Elders’ Council expressed their appreciation for the government’s increased presence, marking a significant shift from past practices.

This aligns with Dr. Sengeh’s objective of bridging the gap between the government and the people of Kono.

Additionally, Dr. Sengeh remarked on the revitalized spirit within the SLPP, with party executives feeling more empowered and engaged following his visit. He underlined the importance of visible leadership and the need to advocate for the party’s ideology and governance goals.

Looking ahead, Dr. Sengeh announced plans to return to Kono not only in his official capacity but also as an investor in the region’s agricultural cooperative.

He extended an open invitation to all, signaling his commitment to fostering local development and encouraging community involvement.
