The Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) received a donation of broadcasting equipment from the Chinese Media Group on March 4, 2025.
The handover ceremony, attended by the Minister of Information and Civil Education, Chernor Bah signifies a strengthening of bilateral ties and media cooperation between the two countries.
Presenting the equipment’s on behalf of the Chinese Media Group, Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone Wang Qing expressed their goodwill towards the people of Sierra Leone, emphasizing the donation as a symbol of friendship.
They acknowledged SLBC’s vital role as a public broadcaster, particularly as Sierra Leone enters a new phase of development, and highlighted the need for adequate resources to effectively disseminate information.
