Civil society consortium on accountability and good governance has in a press release on Monday 25 July 2022 condemned the statement made by Dr. Samura Kamara, the flagbearer Aspirant for the All people’s congress (APC)

According to Consortium, This comes after a video that has gone viral on social media where he made some tribalistic comment’s he directed at the Mende ethnic group, the consortium also called on Dr. Samura Kamara to make a public apology because sierra leone belongs to everybody, not one tribe or region,

The consortium also notes that this condemnation is general advice to all politician who wants to divide the country ahead of the 2023 general election.

The Consortium of Civil Societies on Accountability and Good Governance Sierra Leone (CCSAGGSL) is disturbed by the statements made by Dr. Samura Kamara, who happens to be a flagbearer aspirant for the All-People’s Congress (APC), on a video that has gone viral on social media where he made some tribalistic comments which he directed at the Mende ethnic group.

As an aspiring leader, the CCSAGGSL calls on Dr. Samura Kamara to tender a public apology to the people of Sierra Leone for his statements as it is uncalled for and unacceptable in our country. As an educated person, Dr. Samura Kamara ought to know better than to even think of uttering such statements.

Sierra Leone belongs to everybody, not one tribe or one region.

In conclusion, we are also calling on the public to frown at people, be it a politician or civilized space and there is no place for tribalism in our nation.
