The newly appointed Regional Commander of the Sierra Leone Police for the North East Region, AIG Aiah Edward Samdadiya, expressed his assessment of the electoral process in Makeni as peaceful, despite a slight delay in its commencement.

AIG Samdadiya disclosed that the observed delays in certain areas were primarily due to the late arrival of electoral materials from the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL). However, these issues were subsequently resolved.

During his supervision, he identified some anomalies, including voting delays and instances where the police had not been informed to provide security in certain locations. As a result, there was a lack of police presence in those areas, as they did not receive notification from the ECSL.

AIG Samdadiya emphasized the importance of peaceful voting, urging all Sierra Leoneans to exercise their constitutional right to vote in a peaceful manner.
