The newly appointed state house Director of communications has reacted to the recent increment in internet data prices.

In a post on social media Myk Berewa, the newly appointed state House Director of Communications states that the president shares the sentiment of citizens about the recent increment in the prices of internet data, adding that Alternative consultations are ongoing with all line ministries and MDA’s

He ended by advising citizens to hold their peace as this is a listening government. He states.

This comes as a result of a massive increment of over 150% in internet data prices just days after NATCOM the telecommunication regulatory body issued a statement instructing mobile companies to set a floor price of le18(new Leones) per megabyte.

This has met with so much negative backlash from citizens calling it a move to deprive ordinary citizens of accessing social media
