In an open letter to the Minister of Works, the Sierra Leone Roads Authority, and the Road Maintenance Fund Administration, Ahmadu Tamba Lebbie, a concerned citizen, has raised serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of the Masiaka-Lunsar-Makeni highway.

This vital roadway, connecting key towns and serving as an economic artery for the region, has reportedly suffered from significant pothole damage, which Lebbie warns is making daily commutes perilous, costly, and increasingly prone to accidents.

Lebbie’s letter emphasizes the safety hazards posed by the highway’s worsening state, citing increased vehicle damage, extended travel times, and a rise in accidents along the route. He highlights the economic impact on residents, many of whom rely on the road for their livelihoods and daily activities. According to his account, the condition of the highway is undermining not only safety but also the economic viability of communities in Masiaka, Lunsar, and Makeni.

He appeals to the relevant authorities to prioritize urgent maintenance, arguing that swift action would not only restore safe and efficient travel but also foster economic growth for the region.
