The United Nations Resident Coordinator, Babatunde Ahonsi has reaffirmed the united Nation’s commitment to end the World Trafficking in Person (TIP) in Sierra Leone and the sub region.

The event was organized by the International Organization for Migration in Sierra Leone and the Ministry of Social Welfare during the world day against trafficking in person with the theme ‘2023, Reach every victim of trafficking, leave no one behind.”

The program was centred on the point to redouble the efforts of detecting, protecting and support survivors and leave no trafficking victims behind sierra Leone.

In his statement, the UN Resident Coordinator stressed that, the TIP can happen to anyone irrespective of age, gender and country.

He maintained that it preys on vulnerability and thrives in times of instability.

“I reaffirmed UN commitment to end TIP and called on all to work together to end it,” he said.
