Augustine Sorie-Sengbe Marrah has filed a motion in the High Court of Sierra Leone seeking to restrain the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) from holding an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

The motion, filed on December 5, 2025, by solicitors OJP Legal, seeks an interim order preventing the SLBA and its President, Tuma Adama Jabbi, from proceeding with the meeting, which was organized for the nomination and election of representatives to the General Legal Council (GLC).

According to the filing, the application rests on the grounds that there is a pending action before the Court challenging the legitimacy of the purported SLBA executive. The applicant argues that if the disputed officials are permitted to organize an election for the GLC—the regulator of the legal profession in Sierra Leone—it would undermine the Council’s credibility and integrity.

The Notice of Motion (Case No. MISC.APP. 253/24) specifically requests that the court restrain the plaintiffs, their officers, or agents from taking any steps that would culminate in the holding of the EGM pending the hearing and determination of the action.

Additionally, the applicant is asking the Honorable Court to direct that the current SLBA members serving in the General Legal Council continue to act as representatives until further orders are given.

The case lists the SLBA and Tuma Adama Jabbi as Plaintiffs/Respondents. The Defendants include Marrah, Wara Serry-Kamal, Rhoda Suffian-Kargbo, Elvis Kargbo, Basita Michael, and the estates of the late Emmanuel E.C. Shears-Moses and Musa N. Kamara.

The motion relies on an affidavit sworn by Marrah on December 5, 2025, and is set to be moved at the Law Court Building on Siaka Stevens Street on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
