The Chief Operations Officer of Zoodlabs, David Kpakima, has strongly refuted recent claims made by Global Times that he was suspended over allegations of fraud and embezzlement.

In a public statement released on December 9, 2025, Kpakima categorically denied the allegations, calling the report “deliberately false” and “sensational.”

The article published by Global Times on the same day accused Kpakima of being suspended by his business partner and Group Chairman of Rasab Group, Davar Fazaeli, as part of an internal investigation into alleged financial misconduct. The report further stated that Kpakima was accused of “monumental mismanagement, fraud, and embezzlement.”

Kpakima, who is also a major shareholder in the companies alongside Fazaeli, firmly rejected the report, claiming it was an attempt to overshadow his recent call for a comprehensive audit of their joint ventures.

“It is not only grossly incorrect, but it is also deliberately false and intended to overshadow my recent request for a comprehensive audit of the companies I jointly own with Mr. Fazaeli,” he said in his statement.

The COO stated that he had initiated legal proceedings in Sierra Leone’s High Court to restrain Fazaeli from continuing what he described as “unlawful actions.”

According to Kpakima, any suspension of his position would require approval from the board of directors, a procedure which he claims did not take place in this case. He added that Fazaeli’s actions are now a subject of litigation in court.

Kpakima further emphasized that the call for a forensic audit, filed through legal documents, was a necessary step to clear his name and restore transparency in the business dealings. “It is self-evident that a person accused of fraud and embezzlement would not be the first to request the conduct of a forensic audit,” he argued.

In his statement, Kpakima outlined his long-standing commitment to the economic growth of Sierra Leone. He described his role in various joint ventures with Fazaeli since 2019, asserting that his work had been dedicated to driving the expansion of businesses contributing to the nation’s development.

“I would not steal from business ventures which I co-own and have built from the ground up; nor from the companies upon which over 300 of my fellow Sierra Leoneans rely for their livelihoods,” he asserted.

He concluded his statement by urging the public to disregard the article, describing it as “false, baseless, and intended only to deflect attention from the legitimate demands” he had made regarding the future direction of their businesses.

Kpakima assured that once the matter is resolved in court, the public would be informed of the true outcome. He also expressed frustration with the media coverage, which he described as an attempt to pressure him into withdrawing his legal claims under their business partnership.

The full statement was issued on December 9, 2025, and Kpakima has advised anyone seeking further information to contact his legal representatives at OJP Legal in Freetown.
