The Ambassador of Special Envoy for Investments and Entertainment, Amara Dennis Turay-Jalloh popularly known as Kao Denero has explained issues surrounding the dismissal of Phebean Swill from the Entertainment Board.
The Ambassador was interviewed on Afri Radio where he talked about the challenges he is facing with the board members and why he took the decision to sack the popular TV Presenter, Phebean Swill.
From the interview;
“I don’t just make decision. I have the board and we have the sub-board. We have elders that are advisers. I can’t just take decision. I always share ideas to them for discussion.
“When we tried to release the playlist system, we contacted Phebean so that she can put it on AYV news that we want to release a playlist system. She told me that she can’t do it and I should do it for myself. So, I thought about it. Whenever we want to put things on the radio, we contact DJ Tamba B, DJ Kallox, Hawanatu Konneh to put the information on their platforms. You at AYV, I reached out to you, you said you can’t do anything. Let me do it for myself. That means she don’t want to listen to me and she doesn’t know who I am. So, I ignored it and I didn’t react.
“We are working on different things. We are not political base; we are an entertainment entity but we have to lobby. No matter what, we have to lobby. In Sierra Leone, they called it “Lay Belleh”. You have to lobby so that your programs can be successful and the entertainment industry can move forward through their supports. But if you are part of our entity and you go publicly to express your opinion. You have to think that you are part of a family that your public opinion will affect.
“Myself and Phebean have a very good relationship. She even emceed my show at Family Kingdom. Every time I call her, she is always ready. I have been getting issues with her as she always goes against whatever I instructed. To answer your question, we are presently working on our ‘Terms of Preference’ but I felt like we are all adult. We know the environment that we found ourselves and we should know the things that we should involve in.
“We have called several meetings and she didn’t attend any. We observed all those processes. We are trying to screen and have a team that I will be able to work with to produce result. There is no trust on the team as confidential discussion made on the WhatsApp group, will be heard outside. For example, when we were planning to intervene on the matter of Boss LA, we were discussing on the group.
“Another people that are trying to compete with us and also want the moral that they are the ones that help out Boss LA, went there before us. So, is like somebody in the board group giving information about what we trying to do and what we are working on. It’s tough when you are trying to work on great things and you have people among that are snitch.”
