The Deputy Leader of Government Buisness Hon. Bashiru Silikie has described the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation as a Land of Corruption.

He made the statement at the well of Parliament during the approval of 11 Presidential appointees on June 4th, 2024.

He acknowledges the challenges at SLBC but believes with the Board Chairperson Dr. Williette James the Problems of SLBC will be a thing of the past. He encouraged Dr. James to excel in her role , setting a Precedent for other women to achieve similar position in the future and making President Bio Proud of his appointment.

He reminded the appointees that the last Director General was investigated for Corruption adding that the Institution struggles to even put fuel on it generators in their Provincial stations.

He appealed to the Board Chairperson together with her board members to work with the Director General who is also a woman to resolve these issues.
