The Deputy Minister of Communications Technology and Innovation, Ibrahim Sannoh has highlighted the major roles of policymakers in fortifying Sierra Leone against cyber threats.
He further maintained that it is very impotent to promote awareness about the Convention on Cybercrime, as well as the nation’s commitment to the Budapest Convention as a cornerstone in the global battle against cyber threats.
He made the statement during the Cybersecurity Workshop where he stressed that their focus should be on the essential aspects of policymaking.
“Through open dialogue and collaboration, we can identify gaps, formulate effective policies, and bolster our ability to respond to cyber incidents. Public awareness stands as a potent tool in our collective effort against cybercrime.” He stated.
He said that, the Budapest Convention represents more than a legal framework; it symbolizes a shared dedication to securing Sierra Leone’s digital future. His statements resonated with the understanding that public awareness is a formidable tool in countering cyber threats, ensuring a resilient digital landscape for Sierra Leone’s future.
