Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay, on Wednesday November 8th 2023, paid a visit to the proposed site of the future Law school home.

This was communicated on his Twitter timeline after concluding the short tour at the site.

“Productive visit today to the proposed future permanent home of the 🇸🇱 Law School. Building capacity for improved service delivery of justice sector insts by strengthening professionalism & legal education is crucial to reforming the justice sector.” He wrote.

The new Law school is expected to be a significant development for legal education in Sierra Leone. The current Law school is located in a temporary facility, and the new school will provide students with a state-of-the-art learning environment.

The construction of the new Law school is part of the government’s broader efforts to reform the justice sector. The government has also invested in training new judges and magistrates, and in improving infrastructure at courthouses across the country.

The new Law school is expected to be completed in 2025. Once completed, it will be able to accommodate up to 500 students.
