On the occasion of the Mano River Union’s 50th anniversary, Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Jonathan Titus William, participated in the celebrations.
Tracing its foundation back to 3rd October 1973, the union’s inception took place in Malema, Sierra Leone, as highlighted by the Secretary General of the Mano River Union (MRU), Amb. Maria G. Harrison.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Strengthening the Culture of Regional Peace and Integration for Sustainable Development”.
The deputy minister recounted the union’s role in boosting peace and security in the sub-region and maintained that Sierra Leone aimed at aligning the union priorities with President Bio’s Big Five agenda.
