Of what significance is the madam Diana Konomanyi influence on the Dr. Samura Mattew Wilson Kamara’s political fate come 2023 when Sierra Leone will be setting the stage for the next Presidential, Parliamentary, and hopefully Local Council elections? This is the million dollar question some political pundits are asking the political momentum keep heightening in the country.

Apparently, Diana Konomanyi who happens to be an easterner from Kono district, the eastern region of Sierra Leone. was a sitting minister during the 2018 general elections, yet could not get the all peoples congress a councilor or parliamentary seat; so what will she bring to the table come 2023 election if Dr. Samura Kamara is fortunate to be elected as flag bearer and subsequently select her as his running mate?

More interesting and ironical is the fact that the chief Samuel Sam Sumana, who some of them are seeing as a threat in the fold, has a lot to offer in lieu of the aforementioned and has manifested that in 2007-2012 and 2018 when he bagged all the parliamentary and councilor seats in that part of the country, with the support of his colleagues in the former party, the coalition for change; defeating the likes of Karamoh Kabba, Leonard Balogun Koroma and Diana Konomanyi among others who all hails from Kono.

It is in light of the above, that a cross section of supporters and members of the APC ahead of the party’s national delegates conference, are calling on stakeholders and potential delegates to do the needful and due  diligence in electing their next flag bearer and running mate; ahead of the country’s fourth coming  presidential election.
