Dr. Kaifala Marah was named Peace Ambassador by the Chief of the Kroobay Community during the “Eat and Talk Peace” event yesterday.
This initiative, championed by Dr. Marah, aims to bridge divisions, foster dialogue, and promote unity among communities, particularly at the grassroots level.
The event, held in the heart of the Kroobay slums, saw Dr. Marah engaging with residents not as a politician, but as a community member. His symbolic gesture of sharing a meal with residents underscored his message of solidarity and understanding. Dr. Marah visited other marginalized areas, including Borbor Kombo, Spaine, and King Jimmy, bringing the same message of peace and unity.
The “Eat and Talk Peace” initiative seeks to foster meaningful connections by addressing social issues in informal settings, where food and conversation become tools for healing and community-building. Dr. Marah’s approach highlighted the power of shared experiences in addressing conflict and fostering reconciliation.
“Peace is not just about speeches or agreements; it’s about understanding each other,” Dr. Marah said. “In Kroobay, I saw hope in the midst of hardship, and the power of unity in the simplest acts of kindness.”
Residents expressed appreciation for his efforts, noting the importance of such initiatives in addressing longstanding social divides. Many hailed his visit as a much-needed intervention in communities often overlooked by leaders.
This initiative comes as Dr. Marah continues to advocate for peace and unity within the APC party and the broader national landscape, reinforcing his reputation as a figure dedicated to grassroots engagement.
