The Director of the Directorate of Science, Technology, and Innovation (DSTI), Abdul Malik Tejan-Sie, has been dismissed from his position, less than two years after his appointment in September 2023.
A letter obtained by this medium confirmed his termination last week, instructing Tejan-Sie to immediately hand over all organizational property in his possession.
While Tejan-Sie was widely recognized for his intellectual capabilities, sources within DSTI cited leadership shortcomings as the primary reason for his removal.
“We had high expectations for him, but he struggled to deliver on those promises,” an anonymous insider stated. “Many aspects of the organization have remained stagnant, and progress has been limited.”
In the interim, DSTI Chief Operating Officer Jasper Sembie has assumed the role of Director. Sembie, a founding member of DSTI, is expected to leverage his experience to drive the organization forward.
Observers and stakeholders will be watching closely to see if Sembie can reinvigorate DSTI and address the challenges that led to his predecessor’s ousting.
From the onset of his appointment, i knew he was not up to task to handle such position. Just because he is social media personnel does not reflect the work of DSTI as Director.
@Gaspa. The SL government needs soothsayers or ‘ariyogbos’ like you. That ability of yours to ‘know from the beginning’,… is impressive and worthy of emulation. Sad!
