The management of Easy Solar Sierra Leone’s attention has been drawn to a series of articles published in a Freetown based newspaper on Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th May 2022, which made a number of accusations against the company, its employees and its founding team.
Easy Solar would like to inform the general public that the accusations in this series of articles are false, inaccurate, misleading and malicious. The company is in good standing with the National Revenue Authority as well as all other Governmental agencies and has been operating with the highest level of integrity since its inception.
Easy Solar has taken legal action against the aforementioned newspaper. In addition, in its commitment to transparency, the company has also invited the National Revenue Authority – through a letter to its Commissioner General – to review the company’s tax situation to ensure that those defamatory accusations are put to rest once and for all.
In the past 6 years, Easy Solar’s work has led to the distribution of clean and affordable solar energy products that has reached over 720,000 people in Sierra Leone without access to reliable electricity. The company has also created more than 300 clean energy jobs and reinforced Sierra Leone’s position as a country where it is possible to invest, innovate and succeed. The company operates in all 16 districts, with 33 shops and over 300 sales agents spread across the country.
While the entire team is saddened by these false accusations, Easy Solar wishes to assure the general public that these allegations will neither impact our enthusiasm nor our perseverance and motivation to make energy, financial services and life-improving products, affordable and accessible for all Sierra Leoneans.
