On November 19, 2024, a high-level ECOWAS delegation led by H.E. Ambassador Harouna Moussa, Resident Representative in Sierra Leone, visited the Pujehun District Council.

The delegation, which included key officials such as Deputy Development Secretary Komba Momoh, ECOWAS Accountant Saidu Mongboi, and socio-economist Qusman Drammeh, aimed to strengthen collaboration with the council and introduce new initiatives for the district.

Ambassador Moussa outlined ECOWAS Vision 2050, which aspires to create a borderless, globally integrated, and sustainably developed region focused on people rather than states.

During the visit, Ambassador Moussa encouraged the council to submit a realistic project proposal benefiting Pujehun’s residents, pledging to forward it to the ECOWAS Executive for consideration. He emphasized the transformative potential of these initiatives for the district.

Chief Administrator Sahr E. Yambasu expressed gratitude for ECOWAS’s continued support and commitment. He recalled ECOWAS’s significant role during Sierra Leone’s civil war and democracy restoration, commending its expanded focus on improving citizens’ lives.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to impactful collaboration, aiming to foster regional development and uplift the Pujehun District.
