ECSL Extends Deadline For Local Council Candidates’ Nomination

On April 28th, 2023, the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) issued a public notice announcing an extension to the deadline for local council candidate nominations.

Originally scheduled for the same day, the nomination deadline was extended to April 29th, 2023 at 4:00 pm in response to requests made by the Political Parties Liaison Committee (PPLC).

It is worth noting that the ECSL is a constitutionally mandated body in Sierra Leone, empowered by the country’s 1991 constitution to oversee all public elections in the nation.
