The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has on 13 April 2023 engaged partners on issues around the Voters Registration Cards ahead of the June 24 general elections.
The partners include Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) related to the process.
They were updated on the Paramount Chief Members of Parliament (PCMP) nomination process as well as issues around the securitized Voters’ Registration Cards and the various steps taken by the commission to sort out these projected problems. This is part of the Commission’s effort to conduct a credible election and ensure that the nation is peaceful before, during, and after the elections.
The meeting was chaired by the commissioner for East, Edmond Alpha.
The Commission had also admonished Youths Service Corps (NYC) at the commission’s conference hall through its Chief Electoral Commissioner, Mohamed K. Konneh on their total cooperation in the activities that will drive and protect peace at all levels during the process and how they will be very instrumental in all activities for sustainable peace at all times in the country.
