The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has announced that it is providing logistical support to the Electoral Commission of Guinea to facilitate the conduct of Guinea’s presidential election for Guinean nationals residing in Sierra Leone.

According to a press statement dated 26 December 2025, the support is being provided through the Guinean Embassy in Sierra Leone and is in line with regional cooperation agreements among electoral management bodies within the West African sub-region.

The presidential election for Guinean nationals living in Sierra Leone is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 28 December 2025.

ECSL disclosed that polling will be conducted across several districts in Sierra Leone, with designated voting centres and stations established to ensure accessibility for eligible Guinean voters. The identified polling locations include:

In Bo District, voting will take place at the ECSL Office located at Government Reservation.

In Kenema, the ECSL Office at Government Reservation will serve as the polling centre.

In Kono District, voting will be held at UMC Boys Primary School along Pimbi Lane in Koidu City.

In Kabal, voters will cast their ballots at PC Marrah’s Compound in Kabala Town.

In Makeni, the Islamic Community Center in Timbo has been designated as the polling location.

In the Western Rural District, Pastor Bah’s Compound 55 in Waterloo will serve as the polling centre.

In the Western Urban Area, polling will take place at Mafa Field on Regent Road in Lumley and at the Fula Mosque, K-Step, in Calaba Town.

The Commission emphasized that its assistance is strictly limited to the provision of vehicles, drivers, and access to nine (9) voting centres and eleven (11) voting stations for the exercise.

ECSL further clarified that the support period commenced on Friday, 26 December 2025, and will officially end on Monday, 29 December 2025.

The Commission noted that the collaboration aligns with the ECOWAS Network of Electoral Commissions (ECONEC) agreement, which promotes cooperation and mutual support among sister electoral management bodies across the West African region.

ECSL reassured the public that the arrangement does not interfere with Sierra Leone’s electoral processes and is solely intended to support a smooth and credible election for Guinean citizens residing in the country.
