The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has on the 15th January, 2024 informed the general public that the installation works on the Second Circuit of the 33KV line from 33/11KV Blackhall Road Substation to 33/11KV Wellington Substation commencing on Tuesday 16th to the 31st January 2024 from 9 am to 5 pm daily.
This according to The Management of Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority came under the Energy Utility Reform Project – Additional Financing for which the contractor KESEC Co. Ltd is all set for the process.
They also disclosed that the objective of the work is mainly to increase power evacuation, enhance reliability, improve power quality, and drive loss reduction in the system.
“In that regard, consumers residing in the following areas, especially in the eastern part of Freetown will experience intermittent supply of electricity for the period stated above: Blackhall Road, Roportee, Wellington including communities along Kissy Police Barracks, Thunderhill, Kuntorlor to Calaba Town (Old Road, Gassama Street, Kola Tree, Robis), Lower Portee, Bai Bureh Road to Haja Fatmata, Clarke Street to Joshua Street, Maxwell Street and surroundings, Jui, and the entire Grafton Mogeba, Hastings, Rokel onto Waterloo.
The Authority further apologizes to its valued customers for the inconvenience this situation may cause while assuring affected consumers of immediate restoration upon completion of the scheduled activities slated for every working day.
