In a move to enhance security and operational monitoring, the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has announced plans to install CCTV cameras at its transformer stations across the country.

Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, Chairman of EDSA, revealed that the initiative aims to protect critical infrastructure from vandalism and theft while improving real-time monitoring of electricity distribution networks.

“This step will not only safeguard our assets but also ensure more reliable electricity supply to consumers,” Dr. Yumkella stated, emphasizing EDSA’s commitment to leveraging technology for better service delivery.

The installation of CCTV cameras is part of a broader modernization effort, which includes upgrading metering systems, strengthening grid management, and implementing advanced security protocols.

EDSA assures that all stations will be monitored around the clock and that the system will comply with privacy and data protection standards.
