The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) issued a public notice today, Thursday, October 9, 2025, warning customers of intermittent power interruptions due to system testing on the Côte d’Ivoire-Liberia-Sierra Leone-Guinea (CLSG) transmission level.
The testing is part of the final commissioning process for the CLSG dispatch system located in N’zerekore, Guinea.
The end-to-end testing system is scheduled to commence today, October 9, 2025, between the hours of 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
EDSA stated that the purpose of this activity is to enable member countries, including Sierra Leone, to remotely monitor and operate the interconnection system. This step is essential to drive real-time operational efficiency across the regional power grid.
The Authority apologized for any inconvenience caused by the planned interruption and assured the public that constant power supply will immediately resume once the four-hour testing period is completed.
