The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) recently unveiled plans for crucial preventive maintenance activities aimed at ensuring the smooth and uninterrupted supply of power to communities.

In a press release, EDSA highlighted the focus of these activities, which includes the cutting down of overgrown vegetation obstructing power transportation and the servicing of the 33 KV air switches at the Freetown 161 station. Scheduled for Saturday, December 16th, 2023, these maintenance initiatives aim to fortify the network’s strength while minimizing power disruptions, especially during the festive season.

As part of safety precautions, EDSA will partially shut down the supply grid originating from Freetown 161 during the maintenance period. This will result in a temporary power outage lasting three (3) hours, starting from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 16th. Communities such as Blackhall Road, Roportee, Wellington, Wilberforce, Regent, Lumley, Crab Town, Juba, and Goderich will be affected by these planned outages.

While acknowledging the inconvenience this might cause, EDSA assures the affected communities of a swift restoration of power once the maintenance activities are completed.
