The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has announced in a press release that there will be a power cut in Freetown on Saturday, July 29th, 2023.
According to the release, this power cut is necessary for maintenance operations at its Kingtom Power Station from 6:00 am to 9:00 am.
“The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) wishes to inform the general public that, in partnership with the Electricity Generation and Transmission Company through the Operations and Maintenance Contractor ‘We Build,’ it will be removing the old circuit breaker and support structure from the precinct of the Switchyard at Kingtom Power Station on Saturday, July 29th, 2023, starting from 6:00 am to 9:00 am,” an abstract of the release reads.
The implementation of this activity is expected to increase the capability of the Authority to evacuate bulk power to customers and enhance stability in the supply of electricity to residents in Freetown.
However, the Authority notified consumers of electricity in Freetown to expect a power outage for a period of 3 hours, from 6:00 am to 9:00 am, as stated above.
The Authority apologizes to its valued customers for any inconvenience this situation may cause and assures them of a reliable and sustainable power supply upon completion of the said activity.
