The United States Embassy has congratulated Sierra Leone on the launch of the national public health agency.

They maintained that, there has been a very good relationship and thus wished to maintain that to help in the health sector. “We recognize the years of cooperation that have brought us to this moment, empowered by technical and financial support from U.S. CDC.”

They also stated that, they would be closely looking at Sierra Leone’s leadership to ensure sustained support of a resilient health system capable of effectively preparing for, responding to, and managing public health emergencies, commitimt that there are certain investments in health from the U.S. government through U.S. CDC, USAID, DoD, PEPFAR, PMI, and Peace Corps help save lives.

The newly launched agency may seek to reinforce President Bio’s vision of a functional health system that is ready-made to deal with emmergences as was noted during the launch which is the first in the country.
