Erstwhile President Ernest Bai Koroma says the 2022 Voter Registration exercise process is straightforward and has appealed to his fellow countrymen to step up and register. “It’s everybody’s responsibility to register, you will not be allowed to vote in the election,” added the former chairman of the nation’s main opposition party the All People’s Congress -(APC) in an interview at the Rogbureh village in Makeni, Bombali District, North eastern Sierra Leone.

Asked of his assurance to others that are planning to ignore the registration exercise and his recommendation for the Electoral Commission, Mr. Koroma replied saying “the process is simple once they are with a valid identity card or related document except for others without the required validation document that may have to solicit the service of a village or town headman to identify them before they will be allowed to register.”

On the recommendations, he says he has done but revealed he has been briefied by the member of Parliament in the consistency who had expressed concerns notably about some of the registration forms that are without serial numbers but said ECSL officials in the district have been promptly informed and that they’ve so far assured of addressing the concerns raised swiftly.

Upon arriving at the Rogbureh Community Centre, one of the registration centres named Court Barray with centre code 4078 in Bombali District, together with his entourage, the former president was warmly greeted and when asked by Awoko Newspaper about his impression over the warm reception from the people of Rogbureh village and other persons that were being at the cent where he also registered. Mr Koroma said he is impressed but further appealed to everybody to step up and register in order for them to be allowed to proceed to the next stage of exercising their rights and vote for Candidates for their choices
