Three individuals—Abubakarr Turay, Fatmata Bangura, and their daughter, Kadiatu Turay—have been remanded in custody by Principal Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1.

Awoko reports that the trio faces charges of conspiracy and larceny for allegedly stealing $7,000 from the home of professional footballer Kei Kamara, where they had been employed as caretakers.

The alleged theft occurred on January 15, 2025, at Kamara’s residence on Fadika Drive, Hill Station, Freetown. The stolen amount, equivalent to 170,100 Leones, was reportedly taken from the footballer’s home.

During the court hearing, Abubakarr Turay pleaded not guilty to the charges, while his wife, Fatmata Bangura, and daughter, Kadiatu Turay, admitted guilt.

The prosecution, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Aminatu Daboh, requested an adjournment due to the absence of key witnesses required to proceed with the case.

The accused were unrepresented by legal counsel, and no bail application was submitted on their behalf. Magistrate Kekura, citing the seriousness of the charges, ordered the three to be remanded in custody until the next hearing.
