The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, has been named among the 100 Most Influential Women in Africa for 2025, earning continental recognition for her advocacy and public service work focused on women, girls, and social development.

Dr. Bio acknowledged the honor in a public statement, describing the recognition as both humbling and motivating. “To be named among the 100 Most Influential Women in Africa is a profound honor,” she said. “I am deeply grateful for this recognition and for everyone who deemed me worthy of it.”

In her statement, the First Lady attributed the recognition to faith and public support, saying, “Truly, it is only by the grace of Allah and the unwavering support of the people of Mama Salone that this is possible.”

 

Dr. Bio said the acknowledgment strengthens her resolve to continue her work in public life. “I receive this recognition with humility, renewed purpose, and a deepened commitment to continue serving women, girls, and humanity at large,” she stated.
