In this inspiring session, she illuminated the initiatives aimed at safeguarding the rights of women and girls, evoking enthusiastic responses from Harvard University students who were eager to disseminate the acquired knowledge to the world.
Dr. Fatima Maada Bio consistently emphasised that women should not allow intimidation to derail their pursuit of transformative goals. During the session, she highlighted the profound positive impact of the Hands Off Our Girls campaign on the lives of Sierra Leoneans. Encouraging students to conduct public lectures on women’s rights and inviting men to participate, she stressed the importance of collaboration over competition in effecting global transformation.
Her Excellency advised the students not to be swayed by negative feedback, urging them to stay true to themselves and pursue their beliefs. She emphasised the value of enjoying what one does, asserting, “Anything that you do without enjoying it has no point in doing it.” Dr. Fatima Maada Bio expressed her unwavering enthusiasm for advocating for women and children, calling for men to join forces for the cause of gender equality.
