Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Dr Fatima Maada Bio, has arrived in Paris, France, to participate in the 5th Edition of the International Women Leaders Forum, a global gathering focused on advancing gender equality, education, and women’s economic empowerment.
Dr Bio arrived at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, where she was received by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to France and members of the country’s diplomatic mission.
The high-level forum, organised by Institut AFRIKA, brings together women leaders, government ministers, parliamentarians, entrepreneurs, and other distinguished participants from different parts of the world to discuss issues affecting women and girls.

This year’s event is being held under the theme, “Women’s Excellence in Education and Female Entrepreneurship,” with discussions expected to focus on improving access to education, promoting women’s leadership, and strengthening female participation in economic development.
As one of Africa’s leading advocates for the rights of women and girls, Dr Fatima Bio is expected to share Sierra Leone’s experiences and achievements in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The First Lady said she looks forward to engaging with fellow leaders and contributing to discussions aimed at advancing opportunities for women and girls across Africa and beyond.
Her participation in the forum reflects Sierra Leone’s continued commitment to promoting women’s leadership, education, and inclusive development on the international stage.
