First Lady Fatima Maada Bio has again responded to comments made by former Minister and political commentator Sylvia Blyden following a heated social media exchange over allegations and political criticism.

In her response, the First Lady reiterated her position, alleging that the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) is linked to the circulation of fake news about her.

She wrote: “My dear sister Sylvia, the APC is connected because they are the ones sharing fake news. ‘He who absolutely knows a bit of the law, knows a little bit of everything.’ No one can evict a person in the UK without a court order. It can only be a termination agreement.”

The exchange follows a public post by Sylvia Blyden, in which she urged the First Lady to reduce criticisms of the APC and questioned why she repeatedly associates the party with issues circulating on social media.

Blyden argued that the APC should not be broadly blamed for online attacks, saying many individuals involved were acting independently and not representing the party leadership. She also suggested that internal divisions within the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) were contributing to the spread of damaging narratives.

She further referenced earlier controversies involving the First Lady, including housing-related claims that have circulated online in recent weeks, and urged a more cautious approach to political engagement on social media.
