Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of Sierra Leone, officially bid farewell to a delegation of mayors departing for China to attend a two-week seminar on green public works.
The seminar, organized by the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), aims to enhance sustainable urban development across Sierra Leone.
During a meeting held at her Goderich office, Dr. Bio encouraged the delegation to represent the country with distinction and highlighted the seminar’s crucial role in advancing Sierra Leone’s development goals. She also praised NaCSA Commissioner Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, who leads the delegation, for his commitment to promoting the government’s agenda.
The delegation includes Mayor Robinson Mohamed Mamoud of Bonthe, Mayor Kobba Musa of Bo, Councillor Kandeh Mariama of Koidu City, Deputy Mayor Koroma Rugiatu Suliaman of Kenema, Mayor Tarawallie Alie Badara of Port Loko, and Mayor Kamara Abubakarr of Makeni. The mayors expressed their gratitude to the First Lady for her unwavering support to the people of Sierra Leone.
The seminar in China is expected to provide valuable insights and strategies for fostering sustainable development in Sierra Leone’s urban areas.
