First Lady Fatima Maada Bio, serving as President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), chaired the 2nd Steering Committee Meeting, which brought together fellow First Ladies and country representatives committed to the organization’s mission.

In attendance were H.E. Mrs. Ana Dias Lourenço of Angola, H.E. Mrs. Monica Chakwera of Malawi, H.E. Senator Oluremi Tinubu of Nigeria, and representatives from Congo, Ethiopia, and Equatorial Guinea.

The meeting focused on strengthening regional participation among First Ladies and fostering collaboration to support OAFLAD’s work in advancing the well-being of women and children across Africa.

This was the second meeting since OAFLAD launched its 2025–2027 term with the inaugural session of its newly elected Steering Committee, which is committed to promoting gender equality, improved health systems, and sustainable development on the continent.
