Communications team of the Former Chief Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Prof David John Francis, has in a press release dated 21st July, 2023, denied rumors on Social Media claiming his involvement in a millions fraud scheme which lead to his termination from office.
The team noted that it has come to their attention that false and misleading information is being circulated on various social media platforms, deliberately targeting Professor David John Francis and one other, saying “The SLPP Senior Ayampies Professor Francis and one other (name withheld) conned their own boss Bio millions which led to their immediate firing.”
The Media Team condemned the said post, stating that it is nothing more than a coordinated effort to damage their Boss’s credibility and impede his ability to carry out his professional responsibilities effectively.
They made it clear that the allegation made in the said post is entirely untrue and lacks any credible evidence, adding that their boss, Professor David John Francis categorically denies any involvement in the alleged matter and maintains an impeccable track record throughout his political career.
They urged the public and media outlets to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of information before sharing or reporting, noting that False information can cause irreversible harm to individuals and their families, and it is crucial to consider the consequences of spreading unverified claims.
“We understand the importance of freedom of expression and the need to hold individuals accountable for their actions. However, we must differentiate between legitimate criticism and malicious intent to defame someone’s character. We will not tolerate the use of social media as a tool to perpetrate falsehoods and harm against Professor David John Francis’ reputation,” they warned.
They informed that their legal team is actively investigating the origin of the said false post and will take appropriate action against those responsible for their creation and dissemination.
The team concluded that their boss, Professor David John Francis remains committed to transparency, integrity, and upholding the highest ethical standards, adding that he will continue to serve his community, people, stakeholders and the entire country with the utmost dedication and professionalism.
Why now? What tempted all this?
When you do the needful on time, it’s okay. But the big question is, why now? All of these guys were enemy of your administration. Now that most are questioning your re-election, you are putting others into your bad books. Do the needful or right thing, so as to set your mind free. And everyone will happy one again. Sierra Leone needs healing from offenders of the constitution and enemies of the state. If you do the right thing, it’s best for you and all. Remember what goes around comes around. David Francis (PHD) was released from his position by H.E because he was misleading the president in various activities… the guy only cares about himself and his circle.
