The Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs, Isata Mahoi has joined other women in Bonthe district to celebrate the gender empowerment milestones.

This came by also as honouring the victory of the Member of Parliament Fatmata Bockarie over her victory.

She further highlighted the transformative GEWE Act as well as ensuing the 30% quoter for women in electtions. She also mainianed that, sierra leone’s cabinet has incorporated up to 21 female ministers which is a great move to the right direction as a progress move for the women in the country.

The minister also continue to advocate for empowering rural women and urged government to boost accountability through impactful laws and policies. She called on the women to be part of the fight in pushing the issues of the women at every level in their communities to have a positive impact at national levels.
