The SLPP Mayoral candidate for Freetown, Mohamed Gento Kamara, has expressed words of consolation and assurance following heavy rains in the capital city on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023, which resulted in property destruction and loss of lives.

Gento conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the heavy rains in the city, particularly emphasizing his thoughts and prayers for the most impacted individuals residing in slums and other abandoned communities.

He acknowledged the significant loss of lives and properties caused by the unfortunate event.

Furthermore, Gento conveyed optimistic news that assistance is already underway.

He affirmed his commitment to working alongside the community to effectively resolve the drainage and water issues in Freetown, highlighting his reputation as a man of action rather than empty promises.

“Today, trucks and equipment from my private company have been mobilized to assist in the debris cleanup throughout our city, ranging from the dump site at Kissy to central Freetown. This is a responsibility I have been undertaking for a considerable period, and it will continue when I am elected as the Mayor of Freetown,” Gento stated.

“For me, it will always be about serving my people and transforming the vision of a revitalized Freetown into reality.”
