In an announcement made by the outgoing press secretary, Yusuf Keketoma Sandi Esq., a major development in the field of education and nutrition has surfaced.
During the High-level Session on School Meals in Rome, the German Government made a significant commitment to improve the lives of children in two countries – Sierra Leone and Laos.
The German Government has generously pledged a staggering €22 million Euros to support and bolster the School-Feeding Programme in both Sierra Leone and Laos over the course of the next five years. This substantial funding aims to ensure that children in these nations receive nutritious meals while attending school, promoting better health and enhancing their educational experience.
The School-Feeding Programme has proven to be a crucial initiative in various countries worldwide, addressing issues related to hunger, malnutrition, and access to education. By providing nourishing meals to students, it not only improves their overall well-being but also encourages regular school attendance, thus increasing the chances of academic success and reducing dropout rates.
I hope Germany is not turning a blind eye to the fact that we literally have public officials who will steal the food from our children’s mouth. This announced news I am sure already has a minister or two salivating about how much they will put in their pocket. How are those massive houses getting built?
