Ghanaian President John Mahama is expected to visit Sierra Leone today, March 18, 2025, according to senior diplomatic sources.
The visit is anticipated to strengthen bilateral relations between Ghana and Sierra Leone.
While official details of the visit are yet to be released, sources suggest that discussions will likely focus on key areas of cooperation, including economic partnerships, regional security and political cooperation on regional and international issues.
It would be recalled that Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio also joined fellow Heads of State and dignitaries at the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama in January.
Sierraloaded reports that President Mahama recently visited Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Niger as part of his efforts to enhance security cooperation in the Sahel and West African region while strengthening bilateral ties.
President Mahama’s visit to Freetown comes at a time when both Ghana and Sierra Leone are actively engaged in promoting stability and development within the region. It is expected that the discussions will further solidify the existing strong relationship between the two countries.
Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
