The government has announced further reductions in rice prices in the coming months. This follows a series of unprecedented price cuts implemented over the past few months.

Imran Sillah from the Strategic Communication Unit at the Ministry of Information and Communication (MOICE) credited this achievement to the leadership of President Bio and the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade, and the National Revenue Authority (NRA).

During a weekly press conference, Sillah explained that a newly developed pricing formula has resulted in a reduction of over NLe 250 in the cost of a bag of rice. He noted that the government’s initiatives have brought the price of rice down to approximately NLe 960.

These measures aim to alleviate the financial burden on citizens and ensure that essential staple foods remain accessible to all.
