The Government of Sierra Leone has announced that Thursday, 25 December 2025; Friday, 26 December 2025; and Thursday, 1 January 2026 will be observed as public holidays throughout the country.

According to a public notice issued by State House in Freetown, 25 December 2025 will be observed as Christmas Day, 26 December 2025 as Boxing Day, and 1 January 2026 as New Year’s Day.

The announcement applies nationwide, with government offices, schools, and most businesses expected to observe the holidays in line with national regulations.

The government encouraged citizens to observe the holidays peacefully and responsibly.
